BIO

Charles Evan Brenton (b. 1987, Iowa) is a Colorado-based sculptor whose practice explores the intersections of endurance, landscape, and abstraction. Working primarily in fabricated forms, Brenton translates the experience of moving through mountainous terrain into geometric structures that transform voids, passages, and planes of color into sites of encounter. His work suggests the presence of landscape while resisting fixed interpretation, balancing material precision with a painterly approach to surface.

Brenton’s practice is informed by studies in sculpture, landscape architecture, and environmental science. His years working in fine art production shaped a technical fluency with metal and surface treatment that continues to inform his approach to industrial processes and experimental finishes.

He has exhibited throughout the American West, with projects in Denver, Santa Fe, and Aspen, and his work has been recognized for innovation in both form and finish. Brenton lives and works in Colorado, where the mountains remain central to his practice.
